Cherry Hill Man In His 80s Dies Of Coronavirus
A Cherry Hill man in his 80s was one of 10 Camden County residents whose coronavirus-related deaths were announced on Tuesday.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill man in his 80s has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Tuesday. He was one of 10 new fatalities related to the coronavirus that were announced in the county.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the death of 10 additional residents of Camden County due to COVID-19. The victims and their families are in our thoughts and prayers,” Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “With so much news surrounding new vaccines and expanded eligibility beginning later this month, it bears repeating how important it is that everyone get the vaccine as soon as they are eligible and able to. The vaccines are safe, effective, and critical to our ability to move forward and out of this pandemic.”

There were also 13 Cherry Hill residents among the 127 new cases of the coronavirus that were reported on Tuesday. As of Tuesday, there have been 4,767 cases of the coronavirus in Cherry Hill since the pandemic began.
There have been 39,578 cases and 1,068 deaths countywide since the pandemic began. Trace investigations are underway in all cases. The following information is currently available regarding the most recent deaths in Camden County:

- A Runnemede man in his 80s;
- A Lawnside woman in her 60s;
- A Winslow woman in her 90s;
- A Barrington woman in her 90s;
- An Audubon man in his 70s;
- A Voorhees man in his 50s;
- A Cherry Hill man in his 80s;
- A Pine Hill woman in her 80s;
- A Pine Hill man in his 70s; and
- A Haddonfield woman in her 70s.
Cherry Hill Superintendent of Schools Joseph Meloche will join Cappelli to update the public on the county’s coronavirus pandemic response and vaccine rollout at noon Wednesday. The address will be streamed live on Camden County’s Facebook page and at camdencounty.com/live.
Meloche will provide an update regarding school operation in his district and planning for the remainder of the school year.
