Cherry Hill Moves Memorial Day Event Online Amid Pandemic

Cherry Hill will hold a virtual Memorial Day celebration amid the current outbreak of the coronavirus.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Cherry Hill’s Memorial Day celebration is going virtual amid the coronavirus pandemic, officials announced on Monday. The ceremony, set for 11:45 a.m. Monday morning, will stream live on the township’s Facebook page and will be posted on the township’s website.

The event will highlight parts of the program from previous years and incorporate some special and important pieces shared by members of Cherry Hill Council, members of the American Legion Post 372 and Jewish War Veterans Post 126, and students from the community.

“Memorial Day is about honoring the servicemen and women who gave their lives — a day where we come together, pay our respects, and give thanks to those brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice,” officials said in a statement. “We hope you can join us from the comfort of your own home this year as we pay tribute.”
