Cherry Hill Officers Join Memorial for Slain MIT Officer Sean Collier

Two officers from the department joined about 15,000 from around the country to honor Collier, who was shot and killed by the alleged Boston Marathon bombers.

Thousands of officers from around the country headed to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology this week to pay their respects to slain MIT police officer Sean Collier, and among them were two members of the Cherry Hill Police Department.

Officers Richard Nelms and Rob Daniello served as the department's honor guard, stopping at the Boston Marathon finish line memorial to honor the victims of last week's bombing, and joining at least 15,000 other law enforcement officers in a memorial service on the university's campus.

There, state and federal officials, including Vice President Joe Biden, eulogized Collier as a man who saw police work as a calling and lauded his example for the nation, as reported in Watertown Patch.
