Cherry Hill Red Robin Opens Dec. 2

A portion of the first week's proceeds will go to charity.

Cherry Hill's Red Robin is officially two weeks away from opening, as company officials set the date for Dec. 2, with a portion of the first week's receipts going to charity.

Between opening day and Dec. 8, the restaurant will donate all sales of its Freckled Lemonade, one of the signature drinks on the menu, to Alex's Lemonade Stand, the nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for kids with cancer.

Red Robin opens the doors to the public at 11 a.m. on Dec. 2, featuring a full bar and more than 15 varieties of hamburgers, as well as the chain’s signature bottomless steak fries.

With the restaurant largely complete, hiring has been posted for the Cherry Hill location for hourly workers, including everything from bartenders to line cooks. The typical Red Robin location employs around 150 people, spokeswoman Jamie Winter said.

The Cherry Hill location, like its other South Jersey counterparts, will feature a full bar and more than 15 varieties of hamburgers, as well as the chain’s signature bottomless steak fries.

The chain opened a 210-seat location in Deptford, at the time the company’s seventh in New Jersey, in February, occupying what was previously several storefronts in that mall’s Boscov’s wing.

Red Robin officially signed the lease on the Plaza at Cherry Hill property earlier this year, following planning board approval for the restaurant last fall.

The new restaurant will have plenty of competition in the burger market, from gourmet spots like Bobby Flay-owned Bobby’s Burger Palace at the neighboring Cherry Hill Mall and Zinburger on Haddonfield Road, to the popular quick-serve Five Guys at the Marketplace at Garden State Park.
