Cherry Hill Woman In Her 80s Dies Due To Coronavirus

There were also 8 new cases of the coronavirus reported in the township on Tuesday, bringing the number of cases to 5,403 in the last year.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Cherry Hill woman in her 80s has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Camden County officials announced on Tuesday.

She was one of nine new coronavirus-related deaths announced in the county on Tuesday. There have been 1,144 coronavirus-related deaths in Camden County since the pandemic began more than a year ago.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families today as we announce that nine additional members of our community have lost their battle with COVID-19,” Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “We are continuing to urge everyone to get vaccinated once they become eligible. Mass vaccination is our fastest, most effective weapon against this disease, and represents our best bet at reaching a post-pandemic world.   • A Cherry Hill woman in her 80s;
  • Three Camden men in their 60s;
  • A Pine Hill woman in her 70s;
  • A Winslow woman in her 90s;
  • A Winslow man in his 70s;
  • A Berlin man in his 50s; and
  • A Gloucester Township man in his 70s.

The Camden County Department of Health also announced 133 additional positive cases of the coronavirus. Eight new cases were reported among Cherry Hill residents, bringing the total number of cases in Gloucester Township since the pandemic began to 5,403.

There have been 45,262 cases of the coronavirus in Camden County since the beginning of the pandemic. Trace investigations are underway.

To date, 328,086 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 203,757 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 140,225 people who are fully vaccinated.
