Cherry Hill Woman Sentenced In Sexual Assault Of Student

A former Camden Catholic High School teacher admitted to sexually assaulting a student for more than a year, authorities said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A former Camden Catholic High School teacher from Cherry Hill has been sentenced to four years in state prison after pleading guilty to charges she repeatedly sexually assaulted one of her students, authorities announced.

Bridget Sipera, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer.

Sipera was arrested on Aug. 26, 2020, and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for assaults that police said occurred in Cherry Hill and Gloucester Township. Police said Sipera began assaulting her victim, who was 17 at the time, in January 2019 when the victim was a student in Sipera's class at Camden Catholic High School.

The assaults continued through March 2020, according to authorities. During the investigation, detectives said Spiera admitted to the sexual assaults.

Sipera must forfeit her teaching license and credentials, register under Megan’s Law, undergo lifelong supervised parole, and have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family.
