Cherry Hill's Grand Lux Cafe Announces Layoffs Amid Pandemic
The Cherry Hill Mall restaurant is laying off more than 100 people as of Aug. 31, according to the state labor department's website.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Grand Lux Cafe at the Cherry Hill Mall intends to lay off 117 employees, according to a WARN notice that has been filed with the state.
The Cherry Hill Mall restaurant intends to lay off employees as of Aug. 31, according to the New Jersey Labor Department’s website. A message on the restaurant’s phone system lists the establishment as “temporarily closed,” with no details about a reopening date.
The restaurant has been removed from both the Cherry Hill Mall’s online directory and the Grand Lux Cafe’s website. Only the Paramus location remains listed for New Jersey.

The store opened at the mall in 2012, according to the Courier Post. Its parent company, the Cheesecake Factory, lost $56.5 million for the second quarter of this year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
