Connie Mac Sr. Dies at 76

Cornelius "Connie" Macauley Sr., who ran several well-known area bars and managed Connie Mac’s in Pennsauken, died Oct. 2 at 76 years old.

Macauley—a war veteran, barkeep and active member of his Collingswood church—fittingly grew up in the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia. He and his wife lived in Collingswood for more than 50 years.

Beloved husband of Barbara Ann Macauley (nee Lonsdale); devoted father of Cornelius P. (Teresa) Macauley Jr. of Moorestown, Thomas (Nancy) Macauley of Mickleton. Barbara (William) Coughlin of Union, KY, and John (Robin) Macauley of Haddon Township; grandfather of Cornelius, III, Madelaine, Thomas Jr., Kevin, Michael, Sean, Jack, Logan and Chase Macauley and William, Mary and Matthew Coughlin.

Proud member of Roman Catholic High School Class of '55 and ardent Roman Catholic supporter. Raised in Brewerytown Section of Philadelphia.

Mr. Macauley was the owner of Connie's Corner in Philadelphia 1974-87, Connie's Place in Pennsauken in the 1990s and was a manager of Connie Mac Pub, Pennsauken, with his son, Connie Jr. as the owner.

Living in Collingswood over 50 years, Connie and Barbara are longtime members of St. John's Catholic Church.

Connie served in the U.S. Army during the late 1950s and was a member of the American Legion.

Viewing was Oct. 7, with the funeral and Mass Monday morning. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
