Coming To America's 'Big Mick' At McDowell's At Cherry Hill Mall

CHERRY HILL, NJ — McDonald’s may have the Big Mac, but soon, Cherry Hill be the home to the Big Mick.

McDowell’s — the fictional restaurant featured in the movie “Coming To America” that in no way should be confused with one of America's most popular fast-food chains — will open a pop-up location at the Cherry Hill Mall for a limited time next month.

Fans of the 1988 film, or even anyone who’s never seen the Eddie Murphy comedy about an African prince who tries to find a wife in New York, can enjoy the Big Mick from April 16-26.

The pop-up’s creators are also striking while the iron is hot, as “Coming 2 America” debuted March 4 on Amazon Prime Video.

McDowell’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and tickets can be purchased here.

The Big Mick is a cheeseburger on a hero roll, with lettuce, onions, pickles, french fries and a special sauce. Remember, there are no seeds on this bun.

Visitors can also get the Zamunda Fries, which include blackened chicken, sautéed onions, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, roasted peppers and habanero aioli.

They can wash it all down with the "Sexual Chocolate Shake," which adds a whole slice of chocolate cake to chocolate ice cream, with chocolate sprinkles, chocolate syrup, shaved chocolate, Hershey’s kisses and a cherry.

McDowell’s eateries are popping up all over the country, and the Cherry Hill Mall was a natural location. It has a history of movie-related pop-ups, including its "A Christmas Story" pop-up during Christmas 2017.
