Graduations, Redevelopment Considerations Up This Week

Here's a look at what's coming up in Cherry Hill.

It's graduations galore to start out this week—all three middle schools and East and West all hold their ceremonies in a crowded Monday and Tuesday. Be prepared for plenty of cap tosses as the eighth-graders move up and the seniors move on.

The township's planning board has a busy Monday night schedule—they'll consider the two redevelopment studies proposed by township council last week, and also handle several applications on the agenda. That meeting starts at 7:30 at the municipal building.

The zoning board also meets later in the week, in a largely administrative meeting. There's nothing new on the agenda, but several resolutions from previous meetings need to be considered.

Also, the spring sports season may be officially over at the high schools, but the Carpenter Cup, an annual baseball showcase, gets started first thing Monday in Philadelphia. Three players from Cherry Hill schools will be on the roster for the Olympic-Colonial team, which kicks off the tournament in JFK Park at 9 a.m.
