GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Many folks have four-legged pals to share their homes, Patch is kicking off an effort we hope you'll join: We want to help 1,000 dogs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania find their forever homes.

As part of that effort, we will be highlighting dogs that currently are waiting in shelters for someone to adopt them. Dogs like Oakland. He’s currently at the Homeward Bound Adoption Center, and he’s ready to find his forever home.

“Hey everyone! My name’s Oakland and this is my best friend Amy! As you can see, I absolutely love her,” a flyer for Oakland reads. “We always have the best time when we’re together. She lets me give her so many kisses, and she’s helped me master some of my skills. I can sit and give her paw, and she gives me yummy snacks in return. I’m a really large and in charge kind of guy, so I don’t always realize how strong I am on our walks together. Speaking of walks, pack walks are my favorite. I love seeing my friends and smelling all of the scents along the way. Do you like walks? Want to take a walk with me too?”
