Ice Causing School Bus Delays in Cherry Hill

Multiple routes have been affected, school officials said.

Deteriorating road conditions forced several school buses to pull off the road and caused at least one accident Friday morning, as ice made travel hazardous, and children who haven't been sent to school will be excused, school officials said.

A bus reportedly smacked into a utility pole on Barcroft Road just after 9 a.m., though no one was hurt and students were moved to another bus.

At least 13 buses to Beck and Rosa middle schools were affected by the ice, officials said, and elementary bus routes were running well behind.

“If you have not yet sent your children to school, we advise you not to send them for safety reasons,” school officials said in a statement on the district's website.

Any student absent Friday will be marked as having an excused absence, officials said.
