Lourdes Hosts Movie Screening of “The Sultan and the Saint”

Public screening and discussion of the film held on Wednesday, April 18

Lourdes Health System will host a public screening and discussion of the film “The Sultan and the Saint” on Wednesday, April 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Physicians Conference Room at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, 1600 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ (enter at Vesper Boulevard and Ormond Avenue, near sign marked “The Bridge”).

The movie is about two men of faith, one a traveling Christian preacher, the other the ruler of a Muslim empire, who bucked a century of war, distrust and insidious propaganda in a search for mutual respect and common ground. It is the story of Francis of Assisi and the Sultan of Egypt, and their meeting on a bloody battlefield during the period of Christian-Muslim conflict known as the Crusades.

The screening will be followed by a discussion of the film. Popcorn and light refreshments will be available. To learn more, call Michele Piccinini at 856-757-3808.
