Mask Mandate Lifted: Where To Find Reservations In Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The unofficial, kick-off for summer — Memorial Day weekend — begins Friday, May 28, running through the official Memorial Day, falling this year on Monday, May 31.

This year, Memorial Day also coincides with New Jersey's largest pandemic-related reopening dates yet.

Starting on Friday, people in New Jersey will be allowed to enter retail stores, restaurants, entertainment venues and more without face masks or social distancing in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Effective June 4, indoor gathering and capacity limits will be lifted. On Friday, though, Gov. Phil Murphy did say that the possibility of reimposing restrictions if the coronavirus somehow re-emerges remains "on the table" despite the success of the vaccinations. "This represents such an important milestone in the fight to end this pandemic, but it’s important to note unvaccinated people are still strongly encouraged to wear masks," Cherry Hill Mayor Susan Shin Angulo said in a letter to the community. "That’s one of many reasons to make your plan to get vaccinated today. It’s now easier than ever to get your shot – visit Covid19.nj.gov for all of the information you need to get started."

Several restaurants are offering on-site, takeout and at-home grilling specials, while others are featuring exclusive deals to honor service members and veterans.
