Obituary: Joan Alderfer

Joan Alderfer (nee Schwartz), of Lumberton Leas, formerly of Cherry Hill, passed away on May 3, 2015, at the age of 82.

Joan had taught nursery school at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in Cherry Hill from 1969 until 1994. She initiated a class in parenting under the guidance of the Jefferson Hospital Children’s Center.

After retirement the Alderfer’s traveled to many parts of the world with friends.

Joan was a longtime active member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Moorestown and was a very active volunteer with the church. She also worked for the Red Cross Blood Bank.

Wife of Ferrill “Lefty” Alderfer. Mother of Mark Alderfer, Ann Smolsky and Lynn McFadden. Also survived by 11 grandchildren.

Memorial service is 11 am Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ. 08057.

Interment at the Trinity Memorial Garden. Please no Flowers. Memorial contributions to the Church Outreach Commission or Charity of Donor’s Choice .
