Pools Around Cherry Hill: Where To Swim This Summer

With summer just around the corner, you may be looking for a place around Cherry Hill to take a swim. We've got you covered.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Summer is just around the corner, and you may be planning now to find activities to keep the kids busy — and cool. An obvious summer favorite pastime is spending those hot afternoons at the local pool.

The state recently issued guidance for pools to follow, so they can safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic.That guidance can be found on the New Jersey Department of Health’s website.

Barclay Farm Swim Club, 315 Whitemarsh Way; 856-448-4359: Founded in 1958, Barclay Farm Swim Club was the first neighborhood pool in the Barclay Farm community, according to its website. Its focal point is the area’s only 3-meter diving board—a favorite of diving teams, all the kids, and some daring adults. BFSC is now open for 2021 registration. Member registration can be done here.

Erlton Swim Club, 1505 Park Boulevard; 856-429-9714: Erlton Swim Club is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day, and includes many amenities, such as a swimming pool, splash park, tennis courts, a basketball court, shuffle-board, ping pong, and a children's playground area, as well as grills and picnic areas, all within a fenced in area.

Downs Farm Swim Club, 1701 Haddonfield-Berlin Road; 856-428-1151: Downs Farm Swim Club features three pools for each age of the family, two diving boards, a fire pit, a fenced-in baby pool, private deck, volleyball court, snack bar, playground and programs for learning how to swim.

Charleston Swim Club, 1297 Marlkress Road; 856-354-9808: This private, non-profit swim club is found in a secluded wooded area of the township. Founded in 1965, it is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and features "a full-size 25-meter pool with a diving well and sliding board, a kiddie pool, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pit, basketball court, playground equipment, changing rooms, snack bar, gas grills, and more, available for use by all members."

Cherry Valley Swim Club, 3406 Church Road; 856-667-8653: Cherry Valley Swim Club offers a 25-Meter Swimming Pool, Diving Board, Sliding Board, Wading “Kiddy” Pool with water features, Full Court Basketball, Three Lighted Horseshoe Pits, Sand Volleyball Court, Three Lighted Tennis Courts, Ping Pong, Air Hockey, Playground, Snack Bar, Barbecue and Picnic Areas, Showers/Dressing Rooms, and free Wi-Fi.

Old Orchard Swim Club, 9 Evans Lane; 856-424-9815: The club features a full-sized pool, kiddie pool, BBQ grills, snack bar, and a multitude of social events. They boast the lowest membership fees in Cherry Hill.

Woodcrest Swim Club, 399 Cranford Road; 856-428-1413: Woodcrest Swim Club will celebrate its 64th year this summer. It features three pools, five acres of expansive grounds, swim and dive teams, and sports and social activities for all ages.

Haddontowne Swim Club, 60 Plymouth Drive; 856-298-1550: Since 1963, Haddontowne Swim Club has welcomed new members from Cherry Hill and surrounding towns, including Philadelphia. The main pool features a 1-meter low dive and 3-meter high dive. The club also has a 27-foot round 1’ – 2’ baby pool, a Vortex Full Tube Slide, free Wi-Fi, propane grills, basketball court, wiffle ball field, and three separate play areas including swings and a massive fort.
