Republic Bank Starts Work on Cherry Hill Location

Republic Bank has started construction on its first Cherry Hill branch, which should be open in a few months.

The steel is already rising at Route 70 and Sawmill Road on one of the Philadelphia-based bank’s new prototype branches, which will be the third South Jersey branch, part of an increased focus on the region.

“Southern New Jersey will be our primary market for new stores,” said Harry Madonna, the bank’s chairman and CEO earlier this year.

Bank and township officials recently broke ground officially on the location earlier this month, with plans to open some time in the first quarter of 2014.

Republic’s other South Jersey branches are in Voorhees and Haddonfield; the bank also operates locations in six cities in southeastern Pennsylvania.
