Route 38 Lane Closures Planned Overnight Thursday into Friday

Highway repairs will shut down two lanes through the night.

The right and center lane of Route 38 westbound near Cherry Hill Mall Drive will shut down Thursday night, as the state Department of Transportation (DOT) makes repairs to the deteriorated road bed, DOT officials announced Wednesday.

The closure, which is dependent on weather, is scheduled between 8 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, during which time DOT workers will make repairs to close to a half-mile of the highway.

The left lane will remain open throughout the repair work, but DOT officials said to expect delays and plan alternate routes, if possible. The exact timing of the repair work is contingent on weather and other factors.
