Special Yard Waste Collection Set For Cherry Hill After Storm
Yard waste collection guidelines are being relaxed as Cherry Hill recovers from Tuesday's storm.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Cherry Hill is offering special expanded yard waste collection for debris in the aftermath of the storm that tore through the region this week.
Residents can call the Cherry Hill Department of Public Works to schedule a special storm-related yard waste collection through Aug. 14, township officials announced Wednesday night.
During this time, normal weight and bundling restrictions will be relaxed, and township personnel will collect any yard debris residents can move to the curb.

However, the township won’t be able to move trees or large limbs from private property. Personnel will only collect debris that has been moved to the curb and cut down to a size that can be handled by one person.
To schedule a collection, call 856-424-4422. Pickups will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. It may take several days for the township to respond to requests, depending on the volume of calls. No requests will be taken after 5 p.m. on Aug. 14.

Yard waste that meets standard weight and bundling guidelines of 4-foot lengths and 50 pounds may still be placed curbside for weekly collections.
As of Thursday afternoon, there were a little more than 300 Cherry Hill residents without power, according to the PSE&G outage map. There were just shy of 1,000 residents throughout Camden County who remained in the dark. The estimated restoration time is 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
