Rowan College at Burlington County will host a screening of “Heading Home: The Tale of Team Israel” on Thursday, Oct. 17, 6 p.m. The documentary by award-winning director Seth Kramer tells the story of Israel’s national baseball team, as it competes for the first time in the World Baseball Classic.

The team’s roster includes many Jewish-American major leaguers, most with a tenuous relationship to Judaism. Throughout the film, the team laughs, cries and does much soul-searching, discovering the pride of representing Israel on the world stage.

The screening will take place in the Votta Hall Auditorium on the college’s Mount Laurel campus. A Q&A with Kramer, a co-founder of Ironbound Films, Inc., will follow.
