Toddler Killed By Dogs After Fall From Window In Union County
The dogs, which belonged to the toddler's family, were in the fenced yard at the time of the attack on Wednesday night.
ELIZABETH, NJ — A three-year-old boy was mauled and killed by his family's two dogs after a fall from a window on Wednesday night, according to officials.
Just after 5:25 p.m. Elizabeth Police went to a home on the 400 block of South 5th Street where they found the 3-year-old boy, who had serious injuries from being attacked by the two dogs in the backyard, said acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca and Police Director Earl Graves.
The child was immediately taken to Trinitas Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 6:30 p.m., said Ruotolo.

The dogs, which belonged to the toddler's family, were in the fenced yard at the time of the incident, according to an investigation led by members of the Union County Homicide Task Force, the Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit and Special Prosecutions Unit, the Union County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Unit, and Elizabeth Police Department.
A local animal control organization took the dogs to another location.
