4 Candidates To Run For 2 Garwood Council Seats
Democratic incumbents Sean Benoit and Michael Ince are running against Republican newcomers Heather Loffredo and Kimberly Salmon.

GARWOOD, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June and four candidates have announced their intention to run for the two Garwood Borough Council seats.
Democratic incumbents Sean Benoit and Michael Ince will run for re-election in November. They will face Republican newcomers Heather Loffredo and Kimberly Salmon.
Benoit, a lifelong New Jersey resident, has been a practicing disability rights attorney at a nonprofit organization since 2010. He specializes in advocating for children with special needs to make sure they receive appropriate educational services as well as medical services. Ince, born in Rahway and raised in Clark, worked a wide range of jobs including as a Clark Police Officer, FBI Agent, guidance counselor, substitute teacher and now helping his son part-time with Ince Landscape & Construction. Loffredo is a mother of two young children and currently working at her family's accounting office as an office manager. She grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and bought a home in Garwood in 2004. See Loffredo's full profile here.

Salmon is a mother of two girls and a local real estate agent. She purchased her first home at the age of 23. Salmon grew up in Westfield before marrying her Garwood husband John in 2010. She is involved in the community as she attends council and board of education meetings. She also runs a Garwood Girl Scout troop for her oldest daughter and is currently in the process of setting up a second troop for her youngest child entering kindergarten. The primary election will occur on June 8 and the general election will occur on Nov. 2.
