85-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized After Being Hit By Car: Clark PD

The woman was struck by a car after it left the road and hit her in front of Santander Bank. The victim was airlifted to New Brunswick.

CLARK, NJ — An 85-year-old woman who was struck by a car while she was walking over the weekend remains hospitalized in New Brunswick on Tuesday, three days after a car left the road and hit the woman, Clark Police said.

Police have not identified the woman, who was walking on the sidewalk in front of Santander Bank near the intersection of Raritan Road and Westfield Avenue Saturday afternoon. Police did not provide many details of the accident but said that the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta left the roadway and struck the woman. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

The woman was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. An email seeking an update on the condition of the woman was not immediately returned on Tuesday morning.
