Clark-Garwood Election Results Will Not Be Updated Until Saturday
The Union County Board of Elections posted its unofficial results on Tuesday night but will not post an update on vote totals until Saturday

CLARK/GARWOOD, NJ — The polls may have closed but votes are still being counted in Union County and across the country. And voters should not expect an update on vote tallies in Union County until Saturday, according to the Union County Board of Elections.
As of Wednesday morning, Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi said 177,684 ballots were received out of the 372,854 registered voters in Union County.
The board posted its unofficial results on Tuesday at 11:17 p.m. but will not post an update on vote totals until Saturday, the Union County Board of Elections posted on its election results website.

Taking a look at the local races, as of Tuesday night, Democrats appear to be leading in Garwood for borough council while Republicans are leading in Clark for township council, according to unofficial results.
Rajoppi said 12,449 ballots were sent to registered voters in Clark and 3,395 in Garwood. It is unclear how many ballots from Clark and Garwood were already received.

In Garwood, there is a contested race on the municipal level with has four candidates running for two open three-year seats on the Borough Council.
Here are the unofficial results as of 11:17 p.m. on Tuesday:
- Democrat Russ Graham (Incumbent): 846
- Democrat Vincent Kearney: 832
- Republican Jesse Wilson: 509
- Republican Joseph Nicastro: 545
"We are very excited and optimistic about the results of yesterday's election for Garwood Council. First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who voted as the turnout this year was incredibly high. Also, thank you to everyone on our campaign team for countless hours of phone calls, literature drops, and more. We are proud of the campaign we ran and the platform we put forward, which appears to have resonated with our community. It is important that every vote is counted so every voice can be heard. We understand official results will not be for a couple weeks from now, but we are hopeful for the outcome and the opportunity to serve all the residents of Garwood," Graham and Kearney said.
Garwood School Board has an uncontested race with two candidates vying for three seats unopposed.
Here are the unofficial results as of 11:17 p.m. on Tuesday:
- Albert Del Conte: 862
- Christine Guerriero: 906
In Clark, there is an uncontested Mayoral race with Republican incumbent Salvatore F. Bonaccorso running unopposed.

- Salvatore F. Bonaccorso: 3,625
There is also a contested race with six candidates vying for the two, three-year township council seats.

- Democrat Charles Bassinski: 1,856
- Democrat Natalie Bassinski: 1,902
- Democrat John Victor Jacobson: 1,937
- Republican Angel Albanese (Incumbent): 3,069
- Republican Jimmy Minniti: 3,025
- Republican Bill Smith (Incumbent): 3,053
Clark School Board has an uncontested race with three candidates vying for three seats unopposed.

- Robert Brede: 3,176
- Steven Donkersloot: 3,227
- Megan Harrison: 3,224
