Clark-Garwood's COVID-19 Vaccine Numbers: The Latest
As the CDC says fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks, see how many people in Clark and Garwood have reached that level.
CLARK/GARWOOD, NJ — As the federal Centers for Disease Control changes its guidance on masking for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Clark and Garwood still has work to do to get its residents vaccinated.
The New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town.
Here's the data in Clark Township and Garwood Borough as of Friday, May 21:

- Clark population with at least one dose: 54 percent of all ages, 67 percent of adults (18 and older) and 82 percent of seniors (65 and older).
- Clark population fully vaccinated: 47 percent of all ages, 58 percent of adults and 75 percent of seniors.
- Garwood population with at least one dose: 52 percent of all ages, 63 percent of adults (18 and older) and 83 percent of seniors (65 and older).
- Garwood population fully vaccinated: 44 percent of all ages, 54 percent of adults and 77 percent of seniors.
Clark and Garwood are slowly making progress.
In Clark: Comparing the numbers from May 10, the percentage of fully vaccinated people of all ages increased by 5 percent and the percentage of all ages with at least one dose increased 2 percent.

In Garwood: Comparing the numbers from May 10, the percentage of fully vaccinated people of all ages increased by 5 percent and the percentage of all ages with at least one dose increased 3 percent.
Across Union County, there have been 481,222 doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered as of May 21, according to the state Department of Health. There were 276,330 county residents who have received at least one dose of the vaccines, the state's COVID-19 database says, and 222,287 who were fully vaccinated as of that date.
New Jersey set a goal to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. About 3.6 million people in New Jersey have been fully vaccinated as of Monday afternoon.
