Clark Says No Clown Costumes For Halloween
"We are trying to prevent someone from over reacting to a perceived threat and a tragedy occurs"

CLARK, NJ — Clark parents are being asking to not allow their teenagers to wear clown costumes for Halloween due to the growing number of "creepy clown" threats and sightings.
"We are trying to prevent someone from over reacting to a perceived threat and a tragedy occurs," according to a statement by the Township Mayor, Council and the Police department.

Posts on the page include "they are coming to get you" and that they are, "targeting the schools."
"Creepy clown" sightings have been reported across New Jersey including Clark, Bound Brook, Roselle Park, North Plainfield, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, Deptford, East Hanover, Glassboro, Clearview, Kingsway, West Deptford, Vineland and Toms River.

Residents are also asked not to wear any kind of masks while driving as this may impede vision.
"We in no way feel that any of these clown threats are legitimate but we can not ignore the fear that it has caused," the statement continued. "Please speak to your children, the life you save may be their own."
Clark will be hosting a "Trunk or Treat" on Oct. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at ALJ High School.
