Clark's BurgerIM Closes, Bubbakoo Burritos To Replace It

Jalpesh Chokshi was forced to close BurgerIM. He has since rebranded himself to open a new place offering Mexican-fusion style cuisine.

CLARK, NJ — Some bittersweet news for Clark locals as Jalpesh Chokshi was forced to close his gourmet burger joint, BurgerIM, in town due to a number of issues including the financial impacts of the coronavirus. However, Chokshi is rebranding himself to open a Bubbakoo's Burritos at the same location, 301 Central Ave.

"You put so much into the business, my entire life savings, and we were hurting," Chokshi said.

Despite the lack of sales and the rising cost of food, Chokshi remains committed to the Clark community. He has never said no to offering a donation to community teams in town and is not ready to bow out yet.

Chokshi will be opening Bubbakoo’s Burritos, a national brand known for its Mexican-fusion style cuisine, for curbside pickup and delivery on Nov. 20.

The menu offers six different entrée items including burrito, burrito bowl, tacos, chiwawa, nachos the works, or taco salad. Customers then choose a protein and toppings, including eight exclusive Bubbakoo’s sauces, to customize each meal.

Additionally, every Bubbakoo’s location participates in a program called "Read It To Eat It", where they work with local schools to provide free meals to students for continuing education. Many locations also work with local organizations and sports teams to host fundraising events.

"Getting involved in the community is a big priority of mine," says Chokshi.
