The Clark Police Department made recent arrests, including a 22-year-old man who was charged with distributing a controlled substance.

CLARK, NJ — The Clark Police Department made a number of arrests over the past week for various criminal offenses, the department announced on Tuesday.

The public is reminded that an arrest does not mean a person is guilty of the crime they are accused of as all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

  • Carlos Espinoza, 54, Elizabeth, was arrested at 12:18 a.m. on June 28 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was released pending a court hearing on the charge.
  • Jhamir Short, 22, was arrested at the Essex County Jail at 11:50 p.m. on July 1 for the distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. He remains in custody at the jail pending a court date.
  • Beata Kucharczyk, 45, Linden, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. July 1 for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She was released pending a court date.
