Flash Flood Watch Issued For Union County

The remnants of what was Tropical Cyclone Barry are expected to pass through the area bringing potentially heavy showers and thunderstorms.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — A flash flood watch has been issued for Union County by the National Weather Service.

The watch is in effect from 2 p.m. through late Wednesday night.

The remnants of what was Tropical Cyclone Barry are expected to pass through the region later today bringing potentially heavy showers and thunderstorms, according to the NWS.

Too much runoff water could cause flooding in urban and poor drainage areas. Some fast-responding small streams may also flood.

A total of one to two inches of rain is expected to fall in the area.
