Free Drive-In Movies To Be Held At Linden Walmart

The Linden store is the only location in New Jersey participating in Walmart's movie tour.

LINDEN, NJ — Walmart will be transforming its parking lots into outdoor cinemas from Aug. 14 through Oct. 21 at 160 of their stores, including in Linden. The Linden Walmart, at 1050 W Edgar Rd. in Linden, is the only New Jersey location participating.

The free drive-in movies have two showings at the Linden location this weekend: On Saturday at 7:30 p.m. showing E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. showing Wonder Woman.

Both shows have been sold-out but Walmart says registration may reopen. Customers are asked to check back at thewalmartdrivein.com.

"We recognize the challenges our customers and their families have faced over the last few months, and we wanted to create an experience where they could come together safely to create new memories. The Walmart Drive-in is one small way we’re supporting the communities we serve," said Janey Whiteside, Walmart’s chief customer officer.

The Walmart Drive-in will be a contact-free experience where customers can watch popular films thoughtfully curated by the Tribeca Film Festival such as The Karate Kid, Black Panther, Ghostbusters, Wizard of Oz, The Lego Movie, and more.
