Heat Advisory Issued For Union County

Hot temperatures and high humidity is expected through Tuesday night.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Union County through Tuesday night due to hot temperatures and high humidity.

Residents can expect mostly sunny skies and isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon on Monday. Temperatures are expected near 95 degrees with heat index values up to 103, according to the NWS.

Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at an increased risk and should stay indoors with air conditioning.

For those working outdoors, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
