UNION COUNTY, NJ — Seventy percent is the magic number. It's the number of adults New Jersey wants fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by July 1, the amount President Joe Biden wants partially inoculated by July 4 and a figure Union County has not quite reached in its adult population.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 58.4 percent of the county's adult residents are fully vaccinated, and 70.6 percent have received at least one dose.

While Union County as a whole is coming up short, so are Clark and Garwood. Clark shows 59 percent of adult residents are fully vaccinated, and 54 percent have received at least one dose. Garwood shows 58 percent of adult residents are fully vaccinated, and 52 percent have received at least one dose.
