January Is 'Worst Month To Date' For Coronavirus In Garwood
Garwood has reported a total of 199 positive coronavirus cases and two deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
GARWOOD, NJ — January proved to be Garwood's worst month to date in terms of coronavirus cases since last year.
Garwood reported 8 new positive coronavirus cases last week bringing the total for January to 48, according to the Westfield Regional Health Department.
"The current [New Jersey Department of Health] projections have us near the end of this pandemic by early fall," said borough officials.

Since March 2020, Garwood has reported a total of 199 cases and 2 deaths. With 48 cases reported in January 2021 alone, it is clearly the highest spike the borough has seen since the beginning of the pandemic.
