Officials To Knock On Garwood Doors Encouraging COVID Vaccine
Beginning next week, Westfield Regional Health Officials will be going door-to-door in Garwood with COVID-19 vaccination information.
GARWOOD, NJ — Beginning sometime next week, health officials will be knocking on the doors of people who live in Garwood to encourage residents to get the COVID vaccine.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, 58.4 percent of Union County's adult residents are fully vaccinated, and 70.6 percent have received at least one dose.
Garwood shows 58 percent of adult residents are fully vaccinated, and 52 percent have received at least one dose as of Friday. This is short of the 70 percent benchmark put in place by President Joe Biden and Gov. Phil Murphy.

As a result, representatives of the Westfield Regional Health Department, within their capacity as the Borough of Garwood’s Health Department, will be going door-to-door with COVID-19 vaccination information stating they are free, safe and effective.
