Shoprite Of Clark 5K Run and Walk To Benefit Veterans

ShopRite of Clark will host its Second Annual 5K Run and Walk for Veterans on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Oak Ridge Park.

CLARK, NJ — ShopRite of Clark will host its Second Annual 5K Run and Walk for Veterans on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Oak Ridge Park, located at 136 Oak Ridge Road in Clark.

All proceeds will benefit veterans’ organizations including The Tower of Hope, Hudson Valley Honor Flight and The Committee for Families of War Veterans.

The entrance fee to participate is $25 per person (price will increase to $30 on race day), which includes a race day tee shirt when registered by July 30.

Those interested in participating can register at https://runsignup.com/Race/NJ/Clark/ClarkShopRites5kRunWalkforVeterans, where consumers can also make direct donations to contribute to the cause. Packet pickup will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at ShopRite of Clark, located at 76 Central Avenue in Clark, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On race day, participants and attendees can enjoy music, raffles and refreshments, and awards will be given to the top three male and female runners.

ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. is also currently holding its eighth annual Veterans Fundraising Campaign through Aug. 15.

Thirty-four ShopRite stores in New York and New Jersey – including ShopRite of Clark, ShopRite of Montague and ShopRite of Spotswood in New Jersey – have banded together to collect donations at checkout and host in-store activities and events to raise funds. Since the campaign’s 2009 inception, ShopRite has raised more than $2.1 million for local veterans’ organizations within the communities its stores serve, with over $500,000 raised in 2015.
