Updated Clark-Garwood Election Results

CLARK GARWOOD, NJ — Union County Board of Elections continues tallying votes as they come in. Here are the latest vote tallies, that were updated on Friday night.

As of Saturday at 4:46 p.m., the Union County Board of Elections has counted 145,278 vote-by-mail ballots out of the roughly 372,854 ballots sent out.

Taking a look at the local races, Democrats continue to lead in Garwood for borough council while Republicans continue to lead in Clark for township council, according to unofficial results.

In Garwood, there is a contested race on the municipal level with has four candidates running for two open three-year seats on the Borough Council.

  • Democrat Russ Graham (Incumbent): 947
  • Democrat Vincent Kearney: 921
  • Republican Jesse Wilson: 614
  • Republican Joseph Nicastro: 663

Garwood School Board has an uncontested race with two candidates vying for three seats unopposed.

  • Albert Del Conte: 992
  • Christine Guerriero: 1,043

In Clark, there is an uncontested Mayoral race with Republican incumbent Salvatore F. Bonaccorso running unopposed.

  • Salvatore F. Bonaccorso: 4,488

There is also a contested race with six candidates vying for the two, three-year township council seats.

  • Democrat Charles Bassinski: 2,159
  • Democrat Natalie Bassinski: 2,209
  • Democrat John Victor Jacobson: 2,258
  • Republican Angel Albanese (Incumbent): 3,834
  • Republican Jimmy Minniti: 3,782
  • Republican Bill Smith (Incumbent): 3,814

Clark School Board has an uncontested race with three candidates vying for three seats unopposed.

  • Robert Brede: 3,864
  • Steven Donkersloot: 3,943
  • Megan Harrison: 3,924

Votes will continue to be counted daily and updated periodically on the county's election board website. However, official results are not expected until Nov. 20.
