COVID VACCINATIONS FOR HOMEBOUND RESIDENTS OFFERED THROUGH UNION COUNTY / SHOPRITE OF CLARK OFFERING WALK-IN COVID VACCINES THROUGH MAY 1

For Homebound Residents:

Union County started a Homebound Vaccination Program on Tuesday which is open to all residents that are unable to leave their homes to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

The program will be managed through the UC Human Services Department and led by nurses.

Residents who are homebound and would like to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination may call the County’s Division on Aging and Disability Resources at 1-888-280-8226 between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. According to county officials, they will be offering the Moderna vaccination, and then transition into the Johnson and Johnson one-shot vaccination.

Union County deems an individual to be homebound (18 years or older) if any of these apply:

• The person’s doctor believes that their health or illness could get worse if they leave the home.
• The person requires the help of another person and/or medical equipment to leave the home, or finds it difficult to leave the home and typically cannot do so.
• The person is served by a home health care organization.
• The person is served by social services agencies (e.g. non-medical home care, Meals on Wheels, Community Action Programs, Paratransit services, etc.).
• The person is physically or intellectually disabled.

For Others:

The pharmacy in Shoprite of Clark is offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines at a walk-in clinic every day from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. through Saturday, May 1. Those in need of a vaccine are reminded to wear a mask and bring your insurance card and identification.
