“We understand that flexibility is important in our membership and program options, as everyone has their own comfort level for participation. At our Y branches and in programs, child care and housing facilities, safety is always our number one priority. We have safety procedures focused on capacity, social distancing and cleaning that are followed throughout our association. In addition, we’ve provided virtual programs and amenities throughout branches in Elizabeth, Rahway and Union to enable us to serve our community in a unique way,” stated Melynda A. Mileski, EVP, Chief Operating Officer.
The Y’s messaging includes the reminder that getting healthy as a family can be fun. In today’s busy society, health and family need to come first, and the Y is the perfect place to share healthy activities with loved ones. Not only do parents and caretakers need to remain healthy in order to help their family, but their actions also set an example for all members of their immediate and expanded family. The Gateway Family YMCA provides healthy activities and programs for all ages, allowing individuals or families to share experiences, meet health goals and improve their everyday lives.
