Alec Baldwin To Appear At South Jersey Democratic Fundraiser

Baldwin will appear at a fundraiser in Collingswood on June 1, according to published reports.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — President Donald Trump isn’t coming to South Jersey, but Collingswood residents might hear something that sounds just like the 45th leader of the free world next month. Alec Baldwin, whose portrayal of Trump has helped “Saturday Night Live” to its best ratings in 20 years, will appear at a Democratic fundraiser on June 1 in Collingswood, according to published reports. The fundraiser is $2,500 per person.

The fundraiser is hosted by General Majority Pac, which has become the primary backer for Democratic causes since its establishment in 2013, according to The Observer. The group is tied to South Jersey Democratic backer George E. Norcross III.

Norcross and his brother, Rep. Donald Norcross (D-1) will be in attendance at the fundraiser, according to philly.com. Senate President Steve Sweeney (D., Gloucester) and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D., Hudson), among other state Democratic leaders, will also be in attendance.

In addition to the gubernatorial race, all seats in both the State Assembly and the State Senate are up for grabs in November. Despite being a major contributor in the past, the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) has said it is looking to oust Sweeney from the position of State Senate President, according to philly.com.

It was unknown if Baldwin would don his Trump wig for the occasion. Earlier this year, Newswire reported that “Saturday Night Live” is enjoying its best rating in 20 years following Trump’s election and his constant criticism of the show.
