The event is low key, with no prizes or judging for decorations, but all are welcome and kids, families and cyclists are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers and scooters patriotically. Helmets are required for all riders.

Bike Up Collingswood’s stated mission is to make Collingswood more bike friendly.

“The Fourth of July bike parade is something that we look forward to every year, but I noticed that there wasn’t any mention of it,” Bike Up member and organizer Kim Brooks said. ”I posted on Bike Up Collingswood’s Facebook page asking if anyone knew if it was planned or if anyone would like to help plan it. This all happened quickly through social media and the willingness to make something happen. The new route, police assistance and tie-in with Bike Up Collingswood will help to promote bicycle safety and awareness in town.”

No registration is required to participate. For more information, contact Abby Murray at 856-701-3391 or abby.f.murray@gmail.com.
