Collingswood Restaurant Ranked Among Best in New Jersey

Collingswood, NJ -- This is Collingswood, so of course there are plenty of great places to eat.

But did you know one of the best restaurants in the entire state is practically in your own backyard?

Zeppoli in Collingswood was among the restaurants named in New Jersey Monthly’s annual list of 25 New Jersey restaurants where, the publication says, you should "eat here now."

This list is all about the elegance of dining, spotlighting restaurants that serve pork, chicken, turkey, duck, goat and lamb on the menu that are raised on local farms.

According to the publication:
“If you reflexively skip over antipastos when perusing Italian menus, Zeppoli is a good place to break that habit. The eight or nine seasonal salads chef/owner Joe Baldino presents are, he says, “like a tour of Sicily, from the chefs in the seaside towns to the grandmas making delicious things” in the agrarian hills. Instead of a generic eggplant caponata, Baldino serves a distinctive one from Catania, on Sicily’s east coast, that substitutes currants for golden raisins and tempers the familiar sweet-and-sour with dark cocoa powder. From Trapani, on the island’s west coast, comes roasted cauliflower crisped with breadcrumbs and braced with anchovy.”

Earlier this year, Baldino was a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic Region award. He was also a semifinalist in 2012, when Zeppoli first opened in Collingswood.
