When does school start for Collingswood students? How about winter and spring break? And when can students (and teachers) look forward to summer vacation?

With just about month to go until Collingswood schools are back in session, here’s a look at important dates in the 2013-14 school calendar.

Sept. 4: School starts (early dismissal)

Sept. 5-6: Early dismissal

Sept. 9: School closed for teacher in-service

Sept. 10: Garfield Back to School Night

Sept. 11: Zane North Back to School Night

Sept. 12: Newbie Back to School Night

Sept. 18: Tatem Back to School Night

Sept. 19: Sharp Back to School Night

Sept. 24: Middle school Back to School Night

Sept. 26: High school Back to School Night

Oct. 11: Early dismissal

Oct. 14: School closed for teacher in-service

Nov. 6: Marking period ends for high and middle schools, grades posted Nov. 15

Nov. 7-8: School closed for NJEA convention

Nov. 27: Half-day; marking period ends for elementary schools, report cards distributed Dec. 9-12

Nov. 28-29: School closed for Thanksgiving break

Dec. 9-12: Half-day for elementary schools only for parent-teacher conferences

Dec. 20: Half-day

Dec. 23-Jan. 1: School closed for winter break

Jan. 17: Early dismissal for teacher in-service

Jan. 20: School closed for winter break

Jan. 21-24: High and middle school midterms

Jan. 24: Marking period ends for high and middle schools, grades posted Feb. 7

Feb. 14: School closed for teacher in-service

Feb. 20: School closed for Presidents Day

March 7: Marking period ends for elementary schools, report cards distributed March 17-20

March 12: Early dismissal for teacher in-service

March 17-20: Half-day for elementary schools only for parent-teacher conferences

March 28: Marking period ends for high and middle schools, grades posted April 11

April 18-25: School closed for spring break

May 23: Incoming sixth-grade orientation (1:55 p.m. dismissal), seventh-grade step up day (12:50 p.m. dismissal for grades 7 and 8)

May 26: School closed for Memorial Day

June 6: Early dismissal for teacher in-service

June 10: Marking period ends for high and middle schools, grades posted June 27

June 11, 12, 13, 16: High and middle school finals

June 16-20: Half-days

June 19: Last day of school (tentative)

Emergency or weather closings will change the school calendar. Days will be added back in order of: June 20, Feb. 14, April 25, April 24 and April 23.
