Here's How Much Collingswood Residents Pay In Property Taxes

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ - Collingswood residents saw an average property tax increase of 1.55 percent, according to the state Department of Community Affairs. The increase was No. 345 among the state’s 566 towns in 2018, according to DCA statistics released this week. It was also above the state average of 0.89 percent.

While the increase was higher than average, the average property tax bill itself is below average. According to the DCA, Collingswood residents pay an average of $7,974 in property taxes, putting it at No. 296 statewide. The average New Jersey resident pays $8,767 in property taxes.

Between 2017 and 2018, the average homeowner's tax bill rose to $8,767, an increase of less than 1 percent –an improvement over the 2016 hike of 2.3 percent. It was lower than the 2 percent cap former Gov. Chris Christie put into effect in 2011, according to the analysis.
