Kings Highway Lane Closures Set through Dec. 14
Heads up, commuters: a highway reconstruction project will shut down stretches of Kings Highway at the border of Haddonfield and Cherry Hill through December 14.

The final phase of a Kings Highway reconstruction project in Cherry Hill could cause periodic lane and road closures through the end of this week, Camden County officials announced Tuesday.
Spanning a section of the road from the Haddonfield border at Park Boulevard to Oregon Avenue (near the former Ellisburg Circle), the $927,592 project is moving into milling and paving over the next few days, which will likely shut down the entire stretch at various points through Friday, county officials said.
“Although every attempt is being made to keep at least one lane open during the construction, motorists should be aware of detour and choose alternate routes to avoid delays,” said freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the county Department of Public Works, in a statement. “We understand traffic delays are an annoyance, and will work to keep them at a minimum.”

Lane and full road closures could happen at any point between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., and motorists will be detoured on to Brace Road during any total closures.
Besides the resurfacing, the two-month road improvement project has added new concrete aprons, curbing, sidewalks and handicap accessible ramps, as well as improved drainage and sewer inlet upgrades.

“Improving our roadway infrastructure is one of the best investments we can make in our county,” Leonard said. “This project will not only benefit the residents and businesses surrounding this section of Kings Highway, it will assist all motorists traveling on this side of Cherry Hill and Haddonfield."
