Kraft Expands American Cheese Recall By 300K Cases

A thin strip of the individual packaging film may remain adhered to the slice after the wrapper has been removed, posing a chocking hazard.

Kraft is expanding a recall of American cheese due to a potential chocking hazard. Now 335,000 cases have been recalled, the company announced Thursday.

In August, the company recalled 36,000 cases because a thin strip of the individual packaging film may remain adhered to the slice after the wrapper has been removed, posing a chocking hazard.

Now the recall has been drastically expanded after more reports from consumers, according to The Washington Post.

“Only products with the S54 and S55 codes, which refer to the two production lines on which the impacted product was made, are included in this recall. The “Best When Used By” Date and Manufacturing Code are stamped on both the outer box and the individual packages,” the company said.
