Meet the Artists of RCGC
RCGC is hosting a "Meet the Artist" event on Dec. 6 featuring the work of local artist Jim McHugh and 20 RCGC Student-Artists.
Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) is hosting a “Meet the Artist” event on Tues., Dec. 6 from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m. in the College Center Mezzanine. The exhibit will feature the work of local artist Jim McHugh, along with 20 RCGC student-artists.
McHugh, originally from Ocean City, NJ, moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of the Arts before launching his freelance career. He got his start in oil painting before embracing the available technology and experimenting with digital painting. McHugh has a strong preference for caricature work, and has seen his caricatures published in newspapers around the country. Examples of his work can be found in his online portfolio www.mcillustrator.com.
“I have drawn cartoons and people for as long as I could doodle,” said McHugh. “Traditional caricatures tend to mock their subjects, but I usually try to flatter my subjects through my style of illustration.”
Artwork from RCGC students will also be on display. Student-artists include: Adam Agar, Sky Cox, Lydia D’Ambra, Bryan DiFonzo, Farrah Fabrigas, Elisha Ford, Christopher Haughey, Jeffrey Horner, Joasia Karwatka, Rebecca Kier, Alexander Marucci, Daniel Maygay, Chelsea McCaffery, Regina McNulty, Amanda Neagle, Sarah Thomasson, CJ White, Steve Wood, Eli Zarzecki and Dustin Zirbser.
