Summer Cash Sale Set For Collingswood As Businesses Reopen
Just as non-essential businesses reopen in New Jersey amid the coronavirus pandemic, Collingswood is hosting a summer Cash sale.
COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — Just as non-essential businesses reopen in New Jersey amid the coronavirus pandemic, Collingswood is hosting a summer Collingswood Cash sale, the borough announced on Wednesday.
Similar to Collingswood's annual bonus cash giveaway during the holidays, shoppers who purchase Collingswood Cash during this event will receive $20 free for every $50 purchased to spend in town.
The event will be held with a socially distant lottery on June 24, and winners will be notified by email. The maximum will be $160 free for $400 worth of purchased products. Cash can be picked up on June 28 at borough hall, 678 Haddon Avenue, 9 a.m.

Anyone interested in participating must register online anytime from 9 a.m. on June 19 until noon on June 23. The registration link will go live on Collingswood’s Facebook page and website Friday. Registrants must include the amount they wish to purchase. Note: The amount purchased has no effect on your lottery chances. Completing the form does not guarantee you will receive the amount requested.
"The bonus sale has for years been how we kickstart holiday shopping in Collingswood and there is no better time to encourage people to shop locally than now, when our local merchants need support," Collingswood Mayor James Maley said. "We ask that everyone that gets bonus cash spends it at their favorite stores before we do it again in November. The goal is to create a surge small biz support in Collingswood as our businesses reopen."

Purchasers must be 18 years or older to receive Bonus Cash. The $20 bonus certificate has no cash value and expires on October 1, 2020. When the deadline has been reached, all names will go into a drawing. Numbers will then be assigned to each person until the total of $75,000 has been reached.
"With a match of $30,000 from Business Improvement District funds this will put more than $100,000 in the hands of people that want to support Collingswood businesses at a time when our businesses need it the most," Collingswood Director of Community Development Cass Duffey said.
Winners must show their confirmation email — printed or on their phone — to receive Collingswood Cash and bonus There will be no walk up bonus cash sales. Borough Hall remains closed to the public.

The bonus cash only comes with the sale of a $50 certificate. The $50 certificate cannot be broken down into smaller denominations either at the time of purchase or after the purchase.
Collingswood Cash cannot be used to purchase gift cards for out of town businesses. Change back from Collingswood Cash is at the discretion of the individual businesses. Businesses may issue a store credit for larger amounts.
