Join us at CDC Theatre in Cranford

(CDC Theatre)

CDC Theatre is celebrating its 101st season and announces auditions for its production of the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Auditions will take place at the theatre’s home,78 Winans Avenue in Cranford NJ on Tuesday, November 5 and Thursday, November 7 at 7pm. Callbacks will be by invitation only on Sunday, November 10 at 7pm. The performances will take place February 14,15,21,22, 2020 at 8pm with 2pm matinees on February 16 and 22.

Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee features an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents who vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

Additional information, including character breakdowns, can be found by visiting the theatre’s website, cdctheatre.org.
