Beloved Cranford Fire Department Callman, 50, Dies

A GoFundMe account​ was set up to help Brian Koshney​'s family with expenses.

CRANFORD, NJ — A beloved, longtime Callman for the Cranford Fire Department Brian Koshney, 50, died on Aug. 14, 2018 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.

Born in Rahway, Koshney was a longtime resident of Cranford and a long-standing township employee. He worked for the Cranford Pools for 32 years, Callman for Cranford Fire Department for 23 years, and mechanic at Cranford Sunoco for many years.

A GoFundMe account was set up to help Koshney's family with expenses.

"RIP Brian. Condolences to his entire family. Brian loved Cranford. He devoted his entire life to Cranford, whether it was at the pools, the Sunoco station or the fire department. He fought the good fight and will be sorely missed," it read on the GoFundMe page.

Friends are invited to visit Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West in Cranford. Services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Brian was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Anne.Surviving are his loving siblings, sister Kathleen O’Brien(Chris), brother Dan Koshney(Amber), and sister Theresa Brownlee(Jeff), and his beloved nieces and nephews Dylan, Reagan, Taylor, Kennedi, and Lochlyn, and good friends the Petschow and Dolan families.
