Centennial Village Group's Annual Race To Be Held Sunday

This family-friendly certified race features chip timing, tech T-shirts, and prizes for the best decorated Cranford strollers.

CRANFORD, NJ — The Centennial Village Group will host its eighth annual Velocity 5K race on Sunday at 9 a.m.

The family-friendly race is open to all ages and is described as a flat tour through part of Cranford’s South Side. It begins at Lincoln School on Centennial Avenue in Cranford, and looping through Centennial Village and Mohawk Park.

Strollers are allowed and encouraged, as there will be a prize for best decorated Cranford spirited stroller.

The top three male and female runners overall will receive a prize and medals, and awards will be given to the top three men and women in the following age groups: 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older.

Runners will automatically be entered in raffles for prizes from local businesses. Post-race snacks will be provided by a toute heure restaurant, and Massages By Carrin Fernandes will be giving massages during the entire event.

Race-day registration will be available, starting at 8 a.m. and costing $30 for adults and $20 for children. Email cvgvelocity@gmail.com with any questions regarding the race.
